A Leap into Darkness

Filled with talking animals, sorcerers, and Kings and Queens, A Leap into Darkness follows the adventures of Jake, a loyal, ultimately courageous dog, who tries to navigate intense loss, friendship, and his protective instincts.

Although aimed at children, the novel touches on serious subjects, and the emotions spawned from death and loss, and the subsequent glory of victory over deceit, makes for a stimulating story for both adults and children alike. The dialogue is engaging, with different characters coming and going, leaving their mark on a rich and developed world. From the clothing to the variety of different beards, it is evident Petrolino loves the environment he has created, scribing it in just enough detail.

Perfectly edited, paced well, A Leap into Darkness is an enjoyable, engaging adventure for readers of any age.

Ray Petrolino lives in North Carolina with his wife and family and their dog Jake (not just any dog, but a talking bichon with an unfulfilled set of demands). When Ray is not writing, he's listening to his dog (and sometimes his wife); or he can be found working on film sets, playing drums at his house, or playing drums at someone else's house.
